Exercise

  • Exercise alone will usually not make you lose weight.
  • Exercise combined with food restriction i.e caloric restriction will definitely help.
  • Exercise has many other benefits.
  • Better mental health
  • Improves cardiovascular function
  • Keeps up muscle tone and (weight-bearing exercise) bone density
  • Walking is best – get a pedometer (see tools section)
  • Walk at least 2 miles/day
  • Can you get a home treadmill? If so, walk while surfing the internet or watching TV.
  • A little cardio (mild jogging) if your health allows it – 0.5 to 1 mile at 4 to 5 miles/hr
  • Exercise put together with benefits of fasting, can make you feel well and strong.
  • Try and exercise a bit after a meal to get keep your glycogen stores from topping off.
  • Time your meals either a bit before or after strength exercises to help keep up your muscle mass.
